Food Station Tjipinang Jaya is active in distribution, sales, warehousing, warehouse receipt (system), retailing and the transport of food commodities (rice). Its purpose is to safeguard the food supply in the Greater Jakarta area and to act as an foodstocks information center in South East Asia. Food Station acts in accordance with good corporate governance principles in carrying out its mission, to maintain a competitive edge in this era of global interaction.

·             An Information Center for data on Rice (and secondary crops) for DKI Jakarta and Nation-wide

·             A major world pricing index for Rice and other commodites

·             Development of a Primary Commodities Exchange (especially for Rice)

Food Station has a strong basis for achieving the corporate mission and vision, making use of global best practices of Good Corporate Governance principles, as well as utilizing the corporate values that have long been present and well-understood in every level of the company. Food Station also carries out social and environmental programs that are well-structured and well-programmed, as a clear indication of the care, commitment and responsibility of the corporation to its stakeholders.

The Cipinang Primary Rice Market began with the idea of improving the system of procurement and distribution of rice, as well as a price stabilizer by having buffer stocks in DKI Jakarta. PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya was established as the Sole Manager of the Cipinang Primary Rice Market Tahun in 1974. Based on the Governorial Decision No. D. V.-a. 18/1/8/1974 dated March 7, 1974, concerning theestablishmentof the Cipinang Primary Rice Market as the center for trade in rice, sugar, flour, secondary crops including various ground nuts and coffee, as well as the establishment of the initial management. Subsequently, based on the Governorial Decision No. D. V.-b. 18/1/7/1974 dated March 14, 1974 concerning the appointment of a Transportation Company to carry out the hauling of rice and secondary crops from the Cipinang Primary Rice Market to markets in Jakarta. In 1989 improved regulations concerning the management of the transportation fleet were issued. Governorial Decision No. 1539 dated November 10, 1989 were issued, concerning the improvement of fleet management at the Primary Vegetable Market in Keramat Jati and the Cipinang Primary Market.

In 2014 PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya was officially established as a Regionally-Owned State Company (BUMD) at the end of April 2014, through the Regional Government Decision of the Special Capital Region of Jakarta on Number 6, 2014.

Activities of PT. Food Station Tjipinang Jaya in the supply of rice and other commodities are carried out by full cooperation with rice producers and rice millers throughout Indonesia, who have been appointed to support the government food security program.

The large area of potential agricultural land in Indonesia is managed seriously. PT. Food Station Tjipinang Jaya will become one of the managers of the National Foodshed Region. In the downstream area, PT. Food Station Tjipinang Jaya distributes foodstuffs and other commodities, rents retail outlets, warehouses and drop-shipment facilities.

PT. Food Station Tjipinang Jaya will soon be totally engaged in the business of rice buffer stocks, and in offering a broader and more complete rice information center. PT. Food Station Tjipinang Jaya will play a larger role in safeguarding the stability of commodity prices by transforming into a center for food commodities and food commodities information in South East Asia. Developing electronic food commodities trading will make quality standardization possible, and in turn, eliminating unneccesary food stocks mobilization will decrease logistics and transportation costs.
